CV checker: see exactly what to fix
Paste your CV or open a local file. Get named checks with reasons, then edit and download here. No score or account.
DOCX, text or a CVTemplates draft, up to 3 MB. For PDF or a scan, copy the text instead. Layout, pictures, headers and footers are not imported.
Nothing is uploaded or saved automatically. Keep the original file.
Review before using this text
Compare with the original text
This replaces the CV in the editor below. Save a draft first if you have already edited it. Your original file is unchanged.
Text checks do not verify facts, grammar, qualifications or the final layout. They do not simulate an ATS or assign a score. Use the export checklist before sending.
Edit, recheck and download
Work here without leaving the page. Save a draft file to use this CV in another tool. Open that file there; personal text is never put in a link.
Fictional example loaded. Changes are not saved automatically.
Your details
Town or city, email, phone and a relevant professional link. You can omit your full street address.
Your sections
Use “Move up” and “Move down” to change the order. Start bullet lines with a hyphen and a space.
Tailor your CV to a job (optional)
Paste the job advert or person specification. Compare its wording with your CV, then choose which truthful examples to make clearer.
The advert stays in this open page. It is left out of saved drafts, Word, text and print files. Reloading or replacing your CV clears it.
Keep headings such as “Essential” and “Desirable” when you paste.
Compare the advert with your CV
These are wording matches, not proof that you meet a requirement. Read the whole statement, including “not”, “or”, dates and any qualification level. A missing phrase may be expressed differently in your CV.
Keep only claims you can explain at interview. For help turning a duty into an example, use the work-experience guide. The tailoring guide explains what to give more space.
Fictional CV text is still present. Any matches in that text belong to the example, not to you.
Headings and a few wording rules sort the advert. Check “Other advert text” too; an unfamiliar heading may leave a requirement there. Search is literal, ignoring capitals and extra spaces. It does not understand equivalent skills or check qualifications. How the comparison works.
Plan this version (optional)
Copy the job requirements that matter most, then note your truthful evidence. Move the strongest examples into the CV yourself. These notes do not appear in Word, text or print exports.
Notes stay in this open page. “Save draft” includes them in your private draft file; loading an example or clearing all replaces them.
Document preview
0 wordsPreview shows structure. Word and print may wrap differently. Check every page in your chosen file before sending.
Check before you export
Find missing details, repeated headings and some date inconsistencies. This does not check grammar, verify facts or predict an employer’s screening result.
Save your CV
For PDF: select A4, turn browser headers and footers off, and check the page breaks. Follow the employer’s requested file type.
