I am applying for the Senior Data Scientist role on your forecasting team. I am a data scientist at Firthside Energy, where I build forecasting and customer models in Python for a supplier with 900,000 customers.

My main project is a half-hourly demand forecast built from smart meter, weather and tariff data. It cut forecast error by 18%, which reduced the cost of buying energy to balance the grid.
One model: the data, the result and why it mattered.
I set up weekly automated retraining and monitoring in Databricks, so the models stay accurate without manual work, and I present results to our pricing and customer teams. Forecasting freight volumes is the same kind of problem at a different scale, and I would like to work on it.
