Dear Dr Pryor

Application for Specialist Biomedical Scientist, Haematology and Transfusion

I am applying for the Specialist Biomedical Scientist post in your haematology and transfusion laboratory. I am an HCPC-registered biomedical scientist with four years in haematology and blood transfusion at Soar Valley Hospitals.

I run and validate full blood counts, coagulation screens and blood films, crossmatch blood for theatres, maternity and the emergency department, and take part in the out-of-hours rota, including major haemorrhage calls.

When our laboratory replaced its coagulation analyser, I helped compare the new one against the old before it went live and wrote two of its procedures. I am completing the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology and Transfusion and would like to finish it in a laboratory with your range of specialist work.

My CV is attached. Thank you for considering my application.

Yours sincerely
Joseph Adebayo
