Plumber CV example

A plumber CV should put your registrations and cards first, because they decide what work you are allowed to do: Gas Safe for gas appliances, your plumbing qualification, and a CSCS card for construction sites. Then show the jobs you do, from boiler swaps to bathroom fits, and how you leave them tested and signed off.

How to write yours

01

Registrations first

Gas Safe, your qualification level and CSCS card decide which jobs you can be sent on. Put them in the header and in their own section.

02

Count the installs

Boilers a week or bathrooms a month tell an employer how productive you are.

03

Show renewables

Heat pumps and solar hot water are in demand. List the training and how many you have fitted.

04

Mention call-outs and customers

Emergency rotas and working in people's homes need a calm, tidy manner. One bullet shows you have it.

Checks and qualifications to mention

  • Gas Safe Register. You need to be on the Gas Safe Register to work with domestic gas heating systems (National Careers Service). Give the appliance types you are registered for.
  • CSCS card. You need a Construction Skills Certification Scheme card or equivalent to train and work on a construction site (National Careers Service).
  • Apprenticeships and NVQs. Give your level and year; many plumbers start as apprentices, as this example does.

One page in the Compact design keeps registrations, cards and jobs together; trade employers rarely need more.
