Bartender CV example

A bartender CV should show how busy your bar is, what you can make (cask, cocktails, coffee), the jobs you are trusted with (cellar, cashing up, closing) and how you deal with customers who have had enough. If this is your first bar job, lead with any customer service.

How to write yours

01

Say how busy it gets

Customers a night and the size of the bar team tell a manager you can handle a rush.

02

Name what you can make

Cocktails, cask ale, wine or coffee: list the drinks your next bar sells.

03

Show you can be trusted

Cellar work, cashing up and keyholding are what lead to a supervisor's job.

04

Mention responsible serving

Refusing service calmly matters to every licensed bar; one line shows you can do it.

Rules and checks for a bar CV

  • Age. You need to be over 18 to sell alcohol (National Careers Service), so a bar job is usually your first job after 18.
  • Training. Give any responsible alcohol service or food hygiene training with its year.
  • Availability. Late nights and weekends decide bar rotas; say when you can work.

One page is enough for a bar CV. Keep the volume, drinks and trusted jobs in the first half.
