Model CV example

A modelling CV is a one-page record a booker or client can check against your pictures: your measurements and agency, then your work grouped by catwalk, editorial and commercial, then the skills you could be booked for.

It sits alongside your comp card and portfolio, not in place of them. This example is a model three years into a career with a London agency.

How to write yours

01

Measurements that match today

Bookers check them against your pictures and at the fitting. Update them whenever they change, and use the same figures as your comp card.

02

Group work by type

Catwalk, editorial, commercial and television in their own lists let a client find the kind of job they are casting.

03

Name the client and the year

Each line is the job, the client, the photographer if it was editorial, and the year. Duties do not belong here.

04

Skills you could do on the day

List the ones a client might book you for, such as lines to camera, dance or driving, and leave out the rest.

Rules and checks for a modelling CV

  • No joining fee. Model agencies are not allowed to charge an up-front fee for you to join them (National Careers Service). If one asks for a fee before taking you on, Equity and reputable agencies have advice on what to expect.
  • Under school leaving age. If you start modelling before the legal school leaving age, you need a licence from your local council (National Careers Service).
  • Starting out. You do not need a modelling course or an expensive portfolio (National Careers Service). With no bookings yet, give your details, a few clear snapshots and any charity shows you have helped with.

Minimal and one page: the details read like a comp card, and the work lists stay short enough to check in seconds.
