How to write yours

01

Give the portfolio

Number of accounts and their yearly value set your level in one line.

02

Renewal and growth, with the period

Retention rate and growth in pounds over a stated year are the two figures account managers are judged on.

03

Show who you work with

Client contacts and your delivery team: account management fails when either is missing.

04

Keep client names out

Describe the sector and size unless the client has agreed to be named.

Rules and checks for an account manager's CV

  • Driving licence. Business development roles usually need a driving licence (National Careers Service). Say if you hold one when the job visits clients.
  • Figures. Use results your employer would be content to see shared, and be ready to explain how each was measured.
  • Commission. Give your target and how you did against it; leave pay and commission for the interview.

Modern and one page: the side column carries skills and tools, and the figures stay in the experience bullets.
