Profile

Quantity surveyor with six years at a main contractor on education and housing schemes worth £4 million to £18 million. Prices tenders, runs monthly valuations and change control, and agrees final accounts with subcontractors and clients. Working towards chartered status through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence.

Experience

Quantity Surveyor, Brindley & Shaw Construction, Birmingham 2022–present

Ran the commercial side of a £14 million secondary school extension: subcontract tenders, monthly valuations and the cost report to the client's cost consultant.

Priced 38 variations and agreed 35 with the client's quantity surveyor before the final account, with none taken to adjudication.

Took off quantities for six tenders from drawings in CostX and built the priced bills with the estimating team.

Report cost and value on each project every month, flagging risks to the commercial manager.

Walk the site with the site manager before each valuation, so subcontractors' applications match the work done.
